Stability, Bowl Eligibility, and a Positive step.

The game tomorrow against Vanderbilt is going to be a very important game for the Kentucky football program. Right now the cats have an overall record of 5-4 and are 3-3 in SEC play, which leaves them just one victory of becoming bowl eligible. This would be the first time this has happened since 1999, and believe me when I say the Wildcat fans have been up in arms over this. Although I understand that the SEC is the best football conference in the land, I’m still one of many Kentucky football fans who believe we can do what Louisville has done with their program. A win over Vandy can do so much for this program. 1) It helps Recruiting; 2) It offers stability into a program that has lacked that over the years, and 3) The programs prestige increases. All of these are crucial things that need to happen in order for Kentucky to ever compete at a higher level.
The Rich Brooks era has been shaky at best, but his and this team’s chances of moving the program into a positive direction will come this weekend against the commodores. A win will most likely secure Rich Brooks job, and at the same time send this football team to a bowl game.
